How to add a countdown timer to GetResponse
GetResponse ships its own countdown block, but it is tied to a fixed date and to GetResponse’s look. A tikio timer is a plain image URL instead: your own design, an evergreen mode that starts at each recipient’s first open, and the same countdown reusable on your landing page.
-
Design your countdown in tikio
Create a timer in the tikio editor: pick colors, fonts, labels and the languages you need. What you see in the editor is exactly what lands in the inbox — the timer is delivered as a regular animated image.
-
Publish and copy the image URL
Hit Publish and copy the public image URL. The deadline lives in the URL as a parameter, so the same link works for every campaign — change the date, not the link.

Insert the timer into your GetResponse message
In the GetResponse message editor, add an HTML block and paste the snippet below. GetResponse merge words use double square brackets and are substituted inside the URL for each contact at send time.
<img src="https://tikio.io/e/a1b2.gif?target=2026-08-01T20:00" alt="Offer ends soon" width="480" style="max-width:100%;" />
Per-recipient evergreen deadlines
Use the [[email]] merge word as the recipient key. Each contact’s countdown then starts at their first open and stays put across reopens — the behaviour autoresponder cycles need.

How is this different from GetResponse’s built-in countdown?
The built-in block counts down to one fixed date and is styled by GetResponse. A tikio timer uses your own design and fonts, supports per-recipient evergreen deadlines, recurring and count-up modes, and can be embedded on your website so the page and the email show the same number.
Does it work in autoresponder cycles?
Yes — and evergreen mode is the reason to use it there, since day-3 of the cycle happens on a different date for every contact.
Can I change the deadline without rebuilding the message?
For the next send, yes: edit the target= parameter in the URL. Messages already delivered keep the deadline that was in the URL when they were sent.
