Black Friday countdown timer
Black Friday sends a lot of email against one real deadline, and the deadline tends to change: the sale gets extended, a flash offer is added. The countdown in the emails already sent and on your store should follow without resending anything.
The timer to use
Until a date
One deadline for everyone, stored on the link — so every email and your store show the same time left, and you can move it.
Set it up
Click Get code, choose Until a date and set the sale end with its time zone. Use the same code in every campaign of the sale and embed the website version in your store banner.

Decided to run through Cyber Monday? Change the date on the link. Emails already in inboxes and the store banner pick it up within minutes — the one caveat is Apple Mail’s cache, which can hold the old image for up to a few days, so announce the extension in the next email too.
When it ends
At zero, hide the timer or show “The sale has ended”, and send clicks to your regular collection with a smart link. If you have to pull an offer early, pause the link: the timer disappears from every email at once.

Should I use a separate link per email?
Use one link per deadline. Every email of the sale can share it, which is what lets one change update them all.
Does my ESP’s built-in timer do this?
Many ESPs have a fixed-date block that works for a sale. What they do not document is changing the deadline after sending or using the same timer on your store.
Will a heavy send slow the timer down?
The image is rendered on each open from a fast pipeline; it weighs about the same as any hero image.
