Countdown types

The Get code wizard offers the three most common ones. All five are available in a link's settings under “Countdown type”.

The countdown type is encoded in the URL parameters of your embed code — the same link can produce any of the five.

Fixed deadline

Everyone counts down to the same date and time — one shared deadline you set.

Best for: launches, webinars, sale endings — anything with a real calendar deadline.

Evergreen

Always shows the same time remaining. The timer restarts on every open — there is no per-person memory.

Every open starts it over

Reopen the email later — the countdown starts over.

Best for: automated campaigns where steady urgency matters more than an exact cut-off.

Personal evergreen

Each recipient gets their own deadline: the timer starts at their first open and is remembered — reopening shows the same countdown.

Tracked by uid — your email platform fills it in per recipient.

Best for: trials, onboarding, per-recipient discount windows.

Recurring

A deadline on a schedule: counts down to the same local time — 2 PM every day, every weekday, or every Monday. When it hits zero it rolls over to the next one. Everyone who opens at the same moment sees the same time left.

Set with every=day, every=weekdays or every=week&on=mon, plus at=14:00 and tz=Europe/Berlin. The reset follows the local clock, so it stays at 2 PM when daylight saving starts or ends. On weekdays, Friday after 2 PM counts down to Monday 2 PM. For a custom interval (every 6 hours) use cycle in seconds instead.

Best for: “order by 2 PM for same-day shipping”, daily deals, weekly drops.

Count-up

Counts up from a start moment — the time elapsed since a launch, milestone or “X days since”. It never ends.

Grows from the start — never ends

Set with countup=1 and a target start in the past.

Best for: “since launch” counters, streaks, anniversaries, social-proof momentum.

The type travels in the URL, so links you've already sent keep behaving the way they were sent.
